Top of the 80's Restaurant

The food was good The waiter and waitress were both on top of things. this has nothing to do with the restaurant however I don't think there was a single patron in here that wasn't collecting social security the day I went.

The pan crusted haddock with the dill sauce was excellent. I would love the dill sauce recipe! I have been looking for one and havent been successful in my search.

Decent food, a little pricey. Really nice views. Friendly staff.

Enjoyed lunch with a dear friend. The staff was super friendly and courteous. Fair prices for the quality of the food. Will definitely return soon (hopefully at dinner time to enjoy the view st night).

This was a very nice experience. I was seated immediately and greeted by my server Michelle. A very pleasant young lady she led me through the menu and some of my choices. I started with the French Onion Soup and it had a very nice flavor. The salad was OK and the chicken parm had a very good consistency and flavor to it. I followed up with a cheesecake with raspberry Melba sauce. Very nicely done. The food was a 4 but Michelle earned the fifth star.

Solid sit down dining for locals and road weary travelers right off I-81 in West Hazleton with a fabulous view of the valley.

Top of the 80's has really good food, good table service, awesome view! I was going to put 4 stars because my presence there was something we set up for after my mother's memorial service, but thats not fair it really is five star material. We pretty much had the whole place but you could feel somberness in the air. I would go again, I totally recommend this place!

Nice view, right off of the highway. Great meeting place. Also they make great food.

They are definitely under staffed. We had a reservation and were seated quickly but we didnt meet our server for almost an hour. Also they were a super slow to fill our drinks they didnt even really walk by us at all. An apology would go alot further if followed up by better service.Unlike the service, the food was perfect. All that being said, doesnt the view just about make up for it all. I mean simply stunning. I strongly recommend going for dinner the sunset view is breathtaking!

I think it was a little bit overpriced the salad was really good out enjoyed the strawberry P can salad with the creamy poppyseed dressing the stuffed mushrooms with crab was not the greatest could have been better good been fresh seafood I think they were frozen fresh . The peanut butter pie was one of the best peanut butter pies have had in a long time Over all I give it 3 and a 1/2 to 4 stars The kind of remind me of the people are used to work for he seemed very nice they have a lot of resemblance of similarities to.

The chef made me the most amazing vegan meal today. It was delicious. Portabella cap piled high with quinoa and grains surrounded by grilled red, yellow, and green bell peppers, asparagus, yellow and green zucchini, red onions, sweet potatoes and broccoli,,,, Thank you very much for such a wonder meal.

We always have a good experience at Top of the 80’s. Just had the halibut special, and it was absolutely fantastic and delicious. It was cooked perfectly. Drinks are always good and the employees are so friendly and helpful. I absolutely would recommend.

Amazing views, pity about the food and service. Stop by in the evening and watch the sun go down over the valley, be sure to ask for a window seat.

The food, service and atmosphere are all top notch. The absolute best in NEPA.

Wait staff very attentive. Price was reasonable. 18 people was only $420 including gratuity. Food was great. Scenery was awesome.

Right next to the Hampton Inn at the West Hazleton/Route 93 N/S exit. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We've been here for lunch, dinner, funeral meals, rehearsal dinners and I have NEVER been disappointed.

Great restaurant. We arrived without a reservation and were seated. Wonderful wait staff, Michelle, was our server. Food was excellent and service was superb.

Great place for special occasions. My wife had a large steak and I had chicken Parmesan. The meal was excellent and the wait staff are wonderful and polite. The best is the view and sunset if you have reservations for a front window view. The place is a bit “dated” and needs a remodel in the next few years but I’d take my wife and family back again.

Fantastic! I ordered a well done filet and it was cooked to perfection! Even though it was well, it was tender to the point where no knife was necessary! The crab cake was lump white meat crab, not backfin garbage. My husbands lobster was cooked perfectly. This restaurant serves high quality food products and not chain restaurant quality rubbish! Service was fast and the view was breathtaking!

I had my holy communion here in 1979.We had a room with all windows, I remember it well !I’m excited to return 40 years later, once you reopen. So elated to see your still up and running!!!!

Beautiful view with spectacular sunset background at dinner. Last time we visited there were half portions on the menu which prompted our return, but the menu had changed and no longer listed those smaller size servings. The food was delicious, but there was so much we had no room for dessert.

Sep 8 2019 with ravni, bamboo and p/m. Really beautiful location. If only today was fall, the colors would be breathtaking. The restaurant seemed classy. Server was nice. Had a couple of drinks and appetizers. Fried beans were amazing. Didn’t explore the main course today. Good experience overall.

Let me start by saying i use to deliver here for a bakery outta NJ and always thought three place looked run down from the outside, now here i am years later eating here for the first tinge and WOW!!! Service was superb and the food was absolutely amazing!! I would recommend this place to everyone! As for the prices i feel they are reasonable for the great food and service topped off with a gorgeous view of the valley!!!! Thank you Top of the 80's

Its 8:40pm on March 1st and was told they are closing early...again...Why doesnt this place change their hours its just dumb to say you're open til 10 but you're CONSTANTLY closing early to people coming here even an hour before closing. This is a joke, I havent found any other local places that close early if they aren't super busy....just a thought...MAYBE You would get a later night crowd if people weren't constantly being told you're closing early

All had an excellent meal. Service very good. Beautiful views. More expensive but worth it. Crab cakes are all crab...no filler. Also prime rib is best in the area.

The service was good. The food was passable, not worth the crazy high price. The only part of the meal I wasn't disappointed with was the french onion soup, which was good. I wouldn't go back.

Very nice place and good food!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. They have a good wine list with excellent appetizers. They serve bread with olive oil/herbs just like what I experienced in Venice, Italy. I had a Chilean Merlot which was excellent. I also had clam chowder with a side salad to get started, and had the blackened tilapia (very large portion) with a crab sauce. To top it off, the service was very attentive and friendly and there is a gorgeous scenic view of the valley. I will definitely visit again when I return to Hazleton.

This restaurant is a wonderful reminder of fine dining days of yesteryear. The food is good and the view is spectacular! Reservations are strongly recommended if you want a table by the window.

If you're stuck in this old coal town, this hotel/ restaurant is the way to go in my opinion

We had a reception for around forty people there. Friendly staff handled all our needs. Manager came by several times to ensure everything was taken care of. Food and drinks were on point and enjoyed by all.

Fantastic views out the windows and on the back deck. Can be a bit pricey and I'd recommend a reservation. Honestly worth it at least once even if just to have a small meal and enjoy the view of the valley.
